Eva Rausing Dead: U.K. Billionaire Hans Kristian Rausing Investigated In Wife's Death

LONDON -- Investigators were conducting further tests Wednesday in a bid to shed light on the death of Eva Rausing, one of Britain's richest women, whose body was found in her west London home.

Her husband, Hans Kristian Rausing, has been arrested in connection to suspected drug crimes and police want to question him about the circumstances of his wife's death. He is currently receiving medical treatment in a London hospital. Police have not indicated that Eva Rausing's death was a result of foul play or that a crime was committed.

U.S.-born Eva Rausing, 48, and her husband were wealthy philanthropists who have both waged a long battle against drug addiction. They were arrested on drug charges in 2008 after Eva Rausing was caught trying to smuggle crack cocaine and heroin into the U.S. Embassy in London in her handbag.

Hans Kristian Rausing, 49, is an heir to the Tetra Pak fortune his father built as a globally successful manufacturer of laminated cardboard drink containers.

Police found Eva Rausing dead at her multimillion-pound (dollar) London home on Monday. Initial post-mortem examinations Tuesday failed to establish a formal cause of her death.

The Metropolitan Police said officers arrested a 49-year-old man Monday in connection with the case. Police did not release the man's name but offered details of the arrest in response to a question about Hans Kristian Rausing.

They said they arrested the man on suspicion of drug possession, and that a subsequent search of an address in London's upmarket Belgravia neighborhood related to that arrest led to the discovery of Eva Rausing's body later that day.

Police said he remained under arrest Wednesday but was receiving medical attention at a location away from a police station. They would not say if the man was under guard.

Eva Rausing's parents, Tom and Nancy Kemeny, and the rest of her family paid tribute to a "devoted wife" and mother of four "much loved and wonderful children," saying they were devastated over her death. Their statement also alluded to her struggles.

"During her short lifetime she made a huge philanthropic impact, supporting a large number of charitable causes, not only financially, but using her own personal experiences," the family said in a statement. "She bravely fought her health issues for many years."

A statement from her in-laws, Hans and Marit Rausing, said they were "deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death."

Eva Rausing supported a number of charities that helped to fight addictions. One of them ? Action on Addiction ? was among the first to express sadness over her death and praise her "wonderfully generous" support over the years.

She also was listed as a long-time supporter of The Prince's Foundation, part of a group of nonprofit charities that have Prince Charles as their patron. His office said the prince was told of Rausing's death but did not offer further comment.

In a diplomatic scandal in 2008, Eva Rausing was arrested outside the U.S. Embassy in for reportedly trying to bring crack cocaine and heroin into building in her handbag. Police later found small amounts of cocaine, crack and heroin in a search of the couple's house. They were charged with drug possession but prosecutors later agreed to drop the charges in exchange for formal police warnings.

At the time, the Rausing family issued a statement saying relatives were "deeply saddened" by the couple's drug problems and hoped they could overcome their addictions.

Hans Rausing's Swedish father helped transform Tetra Pak into a hugely successful manufacturer. The fortune of the senior Rausing and his family is estimated at 4.3 billion pounds ($6.7 billion) by the Sunday Times Rich List.

Reqium of the Dragonflies.

During the end of an apocalyptic war, the only buildings still intact happen to be the prisons of Olympus Heights. Most of the convicts have already died, but the few who have survived need to work together to find their way to safety.

5 spoilers (sorta) from 'Dark Knight Rises'

Warner Bros. Pictures

By Brent Lang, TheWrap.com

Warning:?Don't read if you don't want possible spoilers for "The Dark Knight Rises"

"The Dark Knight Rises" has been one of the most tightly guarded summer blockbusters in Hollywood history. With a mere two weeks to go before the final film in Christopher Nolan's superhero trilogy hits theaters, Warner Bros. is dropping some key hints about what Batman faces in his battle to save Gotham City from Bane and Catwoman.

The nuggets come in the form of production notes that the studio placed on the film's website this week, and while they don't contain spoilers exactly, they do provide the most comprehensive look at "The Dark Knight Rises" so far.

It's 49 pages of geeky goodness, but if you don't have the time to read up on what fresh menaces await Batman, here are five secrets that the production notes reveal.

Why Batman?puts on the cape?again
When we last left Gotham, Batman was bravely accepting blame for a series of murders committed by Two-Face so Harvey Dent could remain a hero to the besieged city. According to the production notes, the latest film opens eight years after the events of "The Dark Knight," with Bruce Wayne settling into superhero retirement.

Based on the trailers, it seems as though the billionaire playboy's crime-fighting reprieve is cut short by the appearance of the villainous Bane, but first impressions can be deceiving.

In fact, the notes say that Batman is motivated to put on the cape and cowl because of Selina Kyle, a cat burglar who is known in the comics as Catwoman. It also sounds like the two meet at a benefit honoring Harvey Dent Day hosted for the city's finest by Bruce Wayne.

"We felt very strongly that we should have Catwoman in this film, but we always look for an organic way of grounding the characters in our world," Nolan says in the production notes. "Selina is a cat burglar, a grifter, a classic movie femme fatale, really. That was my way in, and we drew the iconic figure of Catwoman from that."?

What Batman drives?
The Batmobile is so pass?. In this go-round, Batman is taking to the skies to defend Gotham. Get ready for the Bat-Pod, a car/plane hybrid. The Bat-Pod is outfitted with the same monster truck tires as Batman's old car, the Tumbler, according to the production notes. It also sports blast cannons, 50-caliber machine guns and grappling hook launchers. No word on the sound system.

Why Bane wears a mask
Like Batman, Bane, the burly bruiser who terrorizes Gotham, wears a mask. But it's not about keeping his identity a secret. As the production notes reveal, the super-villain needs it to stay alive. The head-gear contains a device that anesthetizes Bane against crippling pain he suffered long ago.

But Tom Hardy, the actor who is playing the villain, says that even with the souped-up mouth-guard, Bane is something of a Chatty Cathy.

"He is florid in his speech, but has the physicality of a gorilla," Hardy says. "So while he is quite articulate, we also wanted to establish a very imposing presence."

Who Marion Cotillard?and?Joseph Gordon-Levitt?play
Two newcomers to the Batman universe, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, play roles that were created expressly for the film instead of plucked out of D.C. Comics lore.

Cotillard will play Miranda Tate, a member of the board at Wayne Enterprises who helps Bruce Wayne fight off a hostile takeover bid. She also encourages the billionaire playboy to uses his moneybags to support an "environmental project."

"She is beautiful, smart and altruistic, and all the good that she aspires to earns his respect and also intrigues him a great deal," Christian Bale who plays Bruce Wayne/Batman says in the notes.

As for Gordon-Levitt, he plays police officer John Blake, a prot?g? of Commissioner Gordon.

"John Blake is the kind of guy who probably always wanted to be a cop and dedicates himself to being excellent at his job," Gordon-Levitt says. "He is someone who believes in what he does and I admire that in anybody. In the midst of a lot of cynicism, he remains proud to be a police officer."

What "Apprentice"?fans?will recognize Bruce Wayne's office?
The Trump Tower, that gleaming 58-story manifestation of Donald Trump's ego, makes a cameo appearance in "The Dark Knight Rises." The Midtown Manhattan landmark serves as the exterior for Wayne Enterprises and the place where Bruce Wayne goes to say "you're fired."

Son of Monaco's Princess Caroline getting married

PARIS (AP) ? Monaco's Princess Caroline says her son, Andrea Casiraghi, is getting married.

Caroline says in a statement issued Wednesday by the Monaco Palace that he will marry Tatiana Santo Domingo. French media reports say Santo Domingo is a Colombian heiress.

The statement does not provide any details about the wedding, including the bride's nationality or the planned date.

Andrea Casiraghi is the nephew of Monaco's ruling sovereign, Prince Albert II. Albert, the son of late American film star Grace Kelly, ended decades of bachelorhood last year when he married South African Olympic swimming champion Charlene Wittstock.

Furby hands-on (video)

Of all the childhood toys to update for the early 21st century, the Furby seems like a no-brainer. After all, when the hairy ball of amalgamated animal strangeness packed in electronics that so baffled the general public that it managed to get itself banned from the Pentagon as a threat to national security. After the Furby was first decommissioned in 2000 (managing to sell an impressive 40 million units in its first three years), Hasbro attempted to revamp the line in 2005 with Emtro-Tronic Furbies, bigger versions of the toy that brought increased facial emotions and voice recognition, failing to recapture the success of the original line.

The latest addition to the line marks a much more significant update for our old furry pal, bringing him up to date for a generation growing up with smartphones and tablets, with revamped aesthetics, new innards and an appetite for Apple's iPad. We managed to get our hands on the squirming and verbose little Mogwai-esque creature -- four of them in fact -- for a bit, when Habro popped by our office with a furry blue army packed in a duffle bag. Check out some impressions of the reborn furball after the break.
