Baseball assessments set for Tuesday

Rosters for the coach-pitch division (ages 6-8) are being finalized and the assessments for this year?s 9-10 and 11-12 divisions have been set for Tuesday, May 15 at the high school ball fields.

Participants and coaches in the 9-10 division should report to the fields at 5:30 p.m.; the assessment will run until approximately 6:40 p.m.
Participants and coaches in the 11-12 division should report to the fields at 6:45 p.m.; the assessment will run until approximately 8 p.m.
All players intending to participate in the assessment should come prepared for basic throwing, hitting and fielding drills, and bring a baseball glove and athletic shoes.

The draft for both divisions will be held Thursday, May 17 at 6 p.m. in Town Hall. All head coaches should attend.
Games in all divisions are tentatively scheduled to begin in early June; the season will run through early July. For more information on this year?s program, call 264-4151 Ext. 231 or 232.

Tee-ball

Tee ball schedules are available at the recreation office and have also been posted on the recreation department page at www.townofpagosasprings.com.

Games will not be canceled due to cold weather, so parents are reminded to dress children accordingly. Games will be canceled due to rain or poor field conditions caused by heavy rain or snow. ?

Kickball tournament

To assist with travel expenses for Pagosa Springs? Destination Imagination teams, there will be a fund-raising kickball tournament Saturday, May 12 at the high school ballfield complex. Games will begin at 8 a.m.?

Age brackets are 7-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16 and up. The entry is $10 per person. Bring a team or sign up individually and teams will be formed.? As mentioned, proceeds will go toward ?The Pagosa D.I. Nerds?? travel expenses to global competition in Knoxville, Tenn.

Fireworks donations

The recreation department is accepting donations for this year?s Fourth of July fireworks show.
Donations in any amount will be accepted; checks and money orders should be made payable to Town of Pagosa Springs.
Donations should be addressed ?Attention: Fireworks? and mailed to P.O. Box 1859, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. If you would like to make a cash donation, please do so in person at the front desk in Town Hall.
