Crucial pre-election payroll report looks weak

(Reuters) - The last employment report before the U.S. presidential election is likely to have something for everyone - for those bullish and bearish on the economy and for Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

Non-farm payrolls in October are forecast to have risen 124,000, barely more than September's 114,000 gain, according to 78 economists polled by Reuters. The unemployment rate probably edged back up to 7.9 percent after falling to 7.8 percent from 8.1 percent last month. The figures are due on Friday.

On the face of it, that would reinforce the charge leveled by Romney, a Republican, that the policies of his Democratic opponent are to blame for the slowest post-recession recovery since the war.

The proportion of America's working-age population that is employed has fallen to 58.7 percent from 60.6 percent when the Democrat took office in January 2009.

But Obama can counter that nearly 800,000 more Americans are in work today than when he became president and that five million jobs have been created since the December 2009 trough, according to the Bureau for Labor Statistics.

In many respects, the job statistics are likely to paint the same blurred picture as Friday's report showing the economy expanded at a 2.0 percent rate in the third quarter: things are improving, but at a frustratingly slow pace.

"For this reason the labor market is currently neither weak enough to do serious damage to Obama's re-election chances nor strong enough to give him a boost," said Bernd Weidensteiner, an economist with Commerzbank in Frankfurt.

Opinion polls show the November 6 election is too close to call.

FISCAL CLIFF

Douglas Roberts, an economist with Standard Life Investments in Edinburgh, said a weaker-than-expected jobs report would not make him too concerned about the U.S. economy. Housing in particular was rebounding smartly, albeit from a low base.

But any softness would underline the urgency of eliminating policy uncertainty that is causing businessmen to sit on their hands, not least the prospect of tax increases and spending cuts that will kick in next year in the absence of a long-term agreement to cut America's budget deficit.

"Investment and recruitment are being held back until companies have a much better idea of the economic environment they're going to be looking at after the election and the ?fiscal cliff' negotiations are through," Roberts said. "So I don't think the payroll numbers will tell you an awful lot."

The other data highlight of the week is the monthly survey by the Institute for Supply Management, which is closely watched in Asia as a pointer to export and production trends.

Economists polled by Reuters expect the ISM index to be unchanged at 51.5.

David Lubin at Citigroup said there was a "decent relationship" between the ISM survey and the export orders component of China's official purchasing managers' index, which is expected to creep higher. Both reports are due on Thursday.

Signs of stabilization in recent Chinese data, including credit growth and rising imports, were a cause for qualified optimism about the prospects in some other Asian economies, Lubin said in a report.

"But there is no systematic evidence that the revival in Chinese import demand is generating positive spillovers in a large number of countries," he added.

BANK OF JAPAN TO STEP UP

That is definitely the case in Japan, whose firms have scaled back sales, output and investment in China after the recent flare-up of a territorial dispute over islets in the East China sea led to violent protests across China and a partial boycott of Japanese goods.

With the economy also on the ropes because of the strong yen, the Bank of Japan is widely expected to deliver more monetary stimulus when it meets on Tuesday to prevent the world's third-largest economy from relapsing into recession.

Recession already has a firm grip on swathes of the euro zone, hit by a debt and banking crisis that is being exacerbated by austerity measures to reduce yawning budget deficits.

Data on Wednesday will probably show that the unemployment rate for the 17 countries using the single currency rose to a record high of 11.5 percent in September from 11.4 percent in August.

In Spain, which on Friday reported a jobless rate of 25 percent, the economy is likely to have shrunk by 0.4 percent in the third quarter, just as it did in the second quarter. Madrid releases the report on Tuesday.

Eric Hartsburg Tattoos Mitt Romney Logo Onto Forehead, Gets Paid ...

While most of us just put election ads on "mute," Eric Hartsburg has learned to face them down. Literally.

That's because the Indiana resident has Mitt Romney's presidential campaign "R" permanently tattooed in a 5 by 2 inch space on his forehead. He had previously offered the spot for sale on eBay with a starting bid of $5,000, reports the Herald Argus.

Hartsburg tweeted his intentions, fully acknowledging the permanence of his offer -- and someone, presumably a Romney supporter, handed over the $5,000.

Eric Hartsburg

I am now on sale! Ad space is now available from head to toe for permanent tattoo impressions that will without a doubt last a lifetime

What was Hartsburg's motive? "I wish it could be a more noble cause than just saying, 'hey, let's have a good time'," he explained to ABC 57. "But you only live once, and I was born with a forehead, so why not?" Words that will live for posterity: I was born with a forehead.

According to RTV6, when Hartsburg isn't busy selling himself on eBay, he works as a professional wrestler.

North American Palladium to invest $116m to further develop the Lac des Iles mine in Canada

EBR Staff Writer
Published 22 October 2012

Precious metals producer North American Palladium (NAP) will continue expansion of its flagship Lac des Iles mine (LDI) in Ontario, Canada.

The company will invest $116m to execute the development activities that include - commissioning the service hoist, auxiliary hoist and related power systems.

The company has commenced mining of the first Offset Zone stope, while the shaft sinking is currently in progress.

NAP has now completed surface construction at the mine site with shaft commissioning expected to begin by December 2012.

Meanwhile stope development, critical to achieving the 2015 annual production rate of 250,000oz of palladium, remains on schedule.

NAP vice president and chief operating officer Greg Struble commented, "With the significant development milestones accomplished to date, we have considerably reduced the risk of the project and remain confident in our ability to achieve the long-term production plan."

The LDI mine produced 37,908oz of palladium in the third quarter of 2012 and is expected to produce 150,000 to 160,000oz of palladium by December for the entire year.

A 7-step process which any technophobe could do to really sweat ...

by Heather Townsend on October 22, 2012 ? 0 comments

This is part 2 of a blog post series on the 7 step process which any technophobe can do to win more business from their blog. In this 2nd part we look at steps 3-7 in the process.

Step 3: Start a discussion online about the blog post. This is where you go to the forums that you are active in and pose a question about inheritance tax planning. Asking the members of the group, who are potential prospects rather than your peers, what experience they have had of inheritance tax planning and then sharing a link to your success story.

Step 4: Go through your client list and identify who might be interested in the service you have been blogging about, i.e. inheritance tax planning. Send a nice friendly, keeping in touch email, to these clients and prospects to share with them your latest blog post. Remember to include in the email something about, you are happy to have a conversation with them about inheritance tax planning.

Step 5: Go through your network and list of introducers. Send them a keeping in touch email, and include the link to the blog post you have written. Put a soft line in the email about if they know anyone else in these circumstances, please feel free to introduce them to you.

Step 6: Put the blog into a list of common subject areas that potential clients may ask you about. I.e. have a list of blogs on the theme of inheritance tax planning.? Every month, go through clients, prospects, introducers who you have on a ?nurture? or ?keep regularly in touch list?, and send them out a link to a blog post that you have written which they may find valuable and interesting.

Step 7: When you have several blog posts on a common theme, e.g. inheritance tax planning, put these together into a guide or white paper. Give this guide away, in return for an email address, for visitors to your website. Offer to send this guide out to prospects or people who have expressed an interest in inheritance tax planning. Go back through your list of prospects, clients or introducers who have expressed an interest in inheritance tax planning and send them your new guide.

Kittens: Their microbiomes are what they eat

ScienceDaily (Oct. 22, 2012) ? For animals as well as people, diet affects what grows in the gut. The gut microbial colonies, also known as the gut microbiome, begin to form at birth. Their composition affects how the immune system develops and is linked to the later onset of metabolic diseases such as obesity.

Common wisdom is that cats, by nature carnivorous, are healthiest when fed high-protein diets. Researchers at the University of Illinois wanted to find out if this is true.

"There are a lot of diets now, all natural, that have high protein and fat and not much dietary fiber or carbohydrates," said animal sciences researcher Kelly Swanson. He and his team examined the effect of dietary protein:carbohydrate ratio on the gut microbiomes of growing kittens.

One month before mating, eight domestic shorthair female cats were randomly assigned to one of two dry diets: high-protein, low-carbohydrate (HPLC) or moderate-protein, moderate-carbohydrate (MPMC). When the kittens were born, they were housed with their mothers until they were 8 weeks old, weaned, and then fed the same diets as their mothers.

After weaning, the 30+ kittens were twin- and triple-housed within the dietary-group cages. They were allowed to go into a common area furnished with toys and scratching posts to play with people and each other.

"It became quite a party right away," said Swanson. "It was a bit chaotic but fun as well."

Twelve of the kittens became part of the study. The researchers took fecal samples at weaning and 4 and 8 weeks after weaning. They extracted bacterial DNA and used bioinformatics techniques to estimate total bacterial diversity.

"This was one of the first studies in cats to use sequencing to really lay out what is in the gut in regards to microbiota and apply it to nutrition," Swanson said.

The researchers found important differences between the two groups in microbiome composition. As they had expected, levels of proteolytic bacteria (which break down protein) were higher for kittens on the HPLC diet and levels of saccharolytic bacteria (which break down carbohydrates) were higher for kittens on the MPMC diet.

They also looked at relationships between the diets and physiology. The kittens fed the MPMC diet had high levels of bifidobacteria, which was linked to higher blood ghrelin levels. Ghrelin is a hormone that stimulates appetite and thus may be linked to weight gain.

At the same time, the bifidobacteria may promote better gastrointestinal health. Low levels in humans have been linked to inflammatory bowel disease.

Other bacteria found at higher levels in the MPMC kittens, including lactobacilli, are also linked to gut health. The researchers found a positive relationship between lactobacilli, blood cholesterol, and blood leptin levels. Leptin is the signal that tells the body to stop eating. Hence, lactobacilli may be linked to cholesterol metabolism, appetite, and body weight regulation.

Although kittens fed the HPLC diet had lower levels of some health-promoting bacteria, including Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus, and Megasphaera, all the animals were healthy throughout the study.

Swanson hopes to use the associations found in this study as a basis for further research. "There were some interesting observations that could have applications for disease or the practical side of owning a pet," he said.

"The cat is fairly unique metabolically," he added, "But when it comes to gut microbes, there are a lot of similarities to other species. If you feed the bacteria in a cat, dog, or human colon the same substrate, there are probably going to be similar outcomes."

What are the Character Strengths of Obama & Romney? | Character ...

Who is more curious ? Barack Obama or Mitt Romney?

Is it Romney or Obama who is perceived to be more brave, more honest, or more creative?

Who?s the stronger team-player: Joe Biden or Paul Ryan?

Each of the strengths noted are important attributes of our character. What do you think? Let your voice be heard ? nominate the strengths of each candidate at the VIA Presidential Caucus poll.

Unfortunately, character has traditionally been viewed in a very limited way over the decades. Political, religious, and educational institutions frequently stake claim on 2-5 characteristics deemed to be most important and then attempt to impose these on congregants, students, and others. Common traits typically focused upon include responsibility, honesty, respect, integrity, and kindness.

Recently, character has been put to the rigors of science and scientists have delivered. Following rigorous investigation and scientific analyses over a three-year period, a classification and measurement tool emerged. The resulting 24 character strengths continue to be studied by researchers around the world and practitioners from multiple disciplines.

Now, back to the politics?.

Across the United States, citizens and politicians are engaging in vigorous debates about who should be our next president. Yet, despite all of the time spent discussing the candidates? positions on the issues, according to an Associated Press-Ipsos poll, it is character that matters most when choosing a president.

And character does not take center-stage. What takes center-stage are attack ads, comments about the failings of the other candidate, self-promotion, and glorious proclamations.

Who are these four men really? What strengths are really at their core?

You can take action to contribute to this meaningful discussion. Take the VIA Presidential Caucus poll. In less than 5 minutes, you?ll have the chance to identify those character strengths that you believe are most essential in a great President, as well as identify those strengths you believe are strongest in the current Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates. This unique poll comes from a non-profit, non-partisan organization, the VIA Institute on Character.

In a future entry, I will share with you the results of the poll.

LG tells the story behind QSlide multitasking, won't be mad if you tweet at the same time (video)

LG's been stepping up its mobile game recently, with the Optimus G being the firm's clearest display of podium-position ambitions yet. And just like its regional neighbors, it's getting in on the "explaining-ideas-behind-concepts" video action. In this clip we see senior research engineer, Sebastian Hochan Song, explain the inspiration and process behind the new phone's QSlide multitasking function. Again, like its fellow Korean nationals, nature and the real world play a heavy part in the idea process. Head past the break if you want to see LG's thoughts about pushing Android multitasking forward, and keep an eagle eye out for one of our very own editors' quick cameo appearance.

Jodi Summers = Industrial Real Estate ? CAN U FINANCING FOR ...

October 20, 2012 on 11:28 pm | In Funny...Money, Green, Lenders + Vendors, Uncategorized | No Comments

by Jodi Summers

Environmentally conscious real estate leases faster and at better terms than traditional buildings, yet it is extremely difficult for property owners to finance green upgrades. A recent McGraw-Hill survey concluded that building owners looking for finances to pay for energy retrofits for their properties are often are forced to rely on their personal resources rather than outside funding.

Granted, there are some options green loans, but the routes are not traditional. The government and utility companies are doing their share to facilitate green loans. Out of the box choices may include ESCO (energy service company) financing, energy service agreements, government loan programs, PACE (property assessed clean energy) programs, and on-bill utility financing.

Richard L. Kauffman, senior advisor to the secretary, Department of Energy suggests that owners should be look to capital market investors, state bonds, local banks and government incentives to generate the necessary capital for individual green improvements to their existing commercial buildings.

If you want to try the traditional route, instead of asking the bank for a green loan, try rolling the cost of energy efficient improvements into a building retrofit or renovation. This is an easy way to sidestep lenders? reluctance to loan on green improvements as a stand-alone investment.

The issue at hand many banks is that green lending is a new thing. They have yet to assimilate green loans in into their underwriting programs?which may require years of data for evaluating risk and assessing the long-term financial impact from green investments.

Research and statistics show that Energy Star and LEED-certified buildings can attract higher rents and generate increased demand from tenants < and that a green property can garner a better lease rates and higher sales price. Lenders aren?t persuaded by research. They want empirical data on risks, and actual cost vs. performance data, not just assurances of what a new technology is expected to deliver.

recognizes top public high schools across the country for outstanding
commitment to their music education programs. Each of the GRAMMY Signature
Schools will receive a custom award and a monetary grant to benefit its music

the efforts in music education made by these schools.. GRAMMY Signature Schools
recipients are determined by the Blue Ribbon Committee, a panel of top music
educators and professionals.

The GRAMMY Foundation has also established
the GRAMMY Signature Schools Community
Award
, an extension of the GRAMMY Signature Schools program in partnership

The GRAMMY Foundation was established in 1989 to cultivate
the understanding, appreciation and advancement of the contribution of recorded
music to American culture ? from the artistic and technical legends of the past
to the still unimagined musical breakthroughs of future generations of music
professionals. The Foundation accomplishes this mission through programs and
activities that engage the music industry and cultural community as well as the
general public. The Foundation works in partnership year-round with its
founder, The Recording Academy?, to bring national attention to
important issues such as the value and impact of music and arts education and
the urgency of preserving our rich cultural heritage. Campbell's Labels for

Top Notch Auto Insurance Tips To Get You The Best Deals ...

Learning the ins and outs of insurance coverage will help you get the right coverage at the right price. Insurance companies have specific criteria which allows them to establish rates for each individual.

Always exercise great care as a driver if you wish to maintain the lowest insurance costs you can. If you can avoid getting a ticket or having an accident, this should enable you to qualify for the various good driver discounts that an insurance company offers. Discounts like these start out great, and often have a scale system that raises the discount every successive accident-free year. It will also keep your premiums from rising.

If you want to save on insurance, take a defensive driving class. Almost every car insurance company offers a reduction in premiums for such courses, and you will improve your driving skills as well. Many local driving schools offer these courses. You can also find them online.

When looking at auto insurance, be sure you comprehend the laws of your place of residence. The minimum insurance coverage necessary can vary widely from one state to the next, making it imperative that you know exactly what you need before buying an automotive policy.

Strive to reduce the mileage you put on your car each year. If you have to drive a lot each year, consider doing it in an inexpensive, second vehicle to lower your risk, which in turn lowers the insurance company?s risk. Two low mileage cars can end up being more cost efficient to insure than one car that is getting very high mileage.

Insurance companies will often times offer discounts for drivers who put less than 7500k a year on their vehicle. If you are aiming to save some cash on your auto insurance, cutting back on the number of miles you drive could be a good idea.

There are ways to lower your car insurance rate, if the high amount is due to a less-than-perfect driving record. Ask your insurance company if they would lower your rate if you completed a driving course, for example. Other companies, like Progressive, now offer customers the option of temporarily installing a chip into their car which monitors their everyday driving habits; if those habits demonstrate consistently responsible driving, then your rate will be lowered.

You will obviously have to pay more than someone with a perfect record, but all insurance companies are different. Certain insurance companies are willing to help drivers that have a less-than-perfect driving record.

Be sure to remove from your insurance policy any vehicles no longer owned by you. There is no need to continue carrying insurance on a vehicle you no longer own as it is purely wasted money.

The main auto insurance companies will often give large discounts to buyers who insure all of their drivers with one company. If everyone is on one policy you can save hundreds or thousands of dollars a year.

Save money by raising your deductibles. This strategy carries some risks, but as long as you?re willing to set aside money each month to cover the cost of your deductible in case of an accident, it can be an excellent way to cut costs. If your deductible is low, your insurance premiums will be as well.

Many people think about removing collision from their policy in order to save a buck, but sometimes this is not the best option, as it means you will have to pay for all repairs on your vehicle should it need to be repaired. It could be harder to pay off a future bill than paying a lower premium.

Married men under age 25 are more likely to get a break on their policy than single men. It has been noted that on getting married some couples saved nearly 40% on their premiums. Though you should never get married only for insurance savings, if you are already planning a wedding, this will be an extra bonus.

Ask for a list of discounts that are available through your current insurance policy. You should thoroughly comb this list for any discounts that are applicable to you. If you want to spend as little as possible on auto insurance, you want to make sure you are getting all the discounts you can.

You need to make sure that your policy includes property damage liability when you are purchasing vehicle insurance. If you cause property damage in an accident, this type of coverage will protect your assets. Most states actually require you to maintain property liability insurance. If you do get into an accident, having property damage liability can save you quite a bit of money.

These are just a few of the many ways that you can understand more about choosing auto insurance. When you understand the different options and how they protect you, you will make a better choice. As you find your knowledge growing, you can choose a policy that works better for

MintLife Blog | Personal Finance News & Advice | 5 Financial Moves ...

A Cute Baby Looking at Piggy Bank

So you?ve just found out you?re going to be a parent. Congratulations! It?s a wonderful experience but with it comes a whole new set of financial responsibilities.

You should start getting your financial house in order long before your child is born because the sooner you do, the easier the road will be.

Financial advisors and parents say checking insurance deductibles, paying down debt and saving money before the birth can go a long way in improving your entire family?s financial future.

Here are 5 things you should do now:

Check your health insurance deductibles.

You?ll want to start looking over mom?s insurance coverage to get a general idea of how much you could be on the hook for. Robert Henderson, President of Landsowe Wealth Management in Mystic, Conn., says while many group health insurance plans through employers carry maternity coverage, most individual plans do not.

Contact your benefits department or insurance company to get an idea of how much you might have to pay out of pocket for deductibles and co-pays.

?How much you have to pay out-of-pocket can vary widely depending on your coverage. It can really add up, so you should try to get an idea of what it might cost,? says Henderson.

According to the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the American Association of Birth Centers, the average cost of a vaginal delivery with no complications in 2010 was $10,166. For a cesarean section with complications, that average was as high was $23,111.

While the mother can?t know what?s going to happen until the last month of her pregnancy, having a ballpark figure can help know how much to save.

Mari Adam of Adam Financial Associates in Boca Raton, Fla., also says it?s important to see how long the health insurance may cover the child before they need to be added on the policy. In many cases, it?s a month from birth but it varies by state and employer.

You?ll also have to plan for the increased premium for the child coverage and prepare for any expenses that may not be covered. That can often include circumcision and vaccines.

?There are a lot of things that won?t be covered. You need to check over your insurance so you know what to expect so that you can prepare for those bills,? says Adam.

Pay off credit card debt.

Being a parent is already hard enough on your wallet. It?s going to be a lot harder if you?re also carrying credit card debt at a 22% interest rate. Adam says you should take the next eight to nine months to try to knock out some of your high cost debt. Doing so might seem tough initially but it can pay off in the long run.

?It?s going to be a lot harder to do once the child is born and paying down that debt might free up some money in your budget when the baby comes,? says Adam.

If you?re carrying a $5,000 credit card balance at 22%, you could be blowing up to $1,000 per year in interest payments. By making a minimum payment of interest plus 1% of the balance it will take you 281 months to pay off that debt. By then you?ll have paid more than $8,500 in interest.

By making a payment of $300 per month, you?d pay off the debt in 21 months and save over $7,000 in interest, which could go to your child?s education fund or your retirement accounts. The sooner you pay credit card debt off, the sooner you?ll be able to start saving real money.

Protect your child?s future with estate planning and life insurance.

There is absolutely no reason for any parent to ever go without life insurance. If you?re a young, non-smoking adult with few or no medical problems, you might be able to obtain a $250,000 20-year policy for as little as $200 per year.

Certified Financial Planner Cathy Pareto recommends a term policy for most people because it?s affordable and offers coverage for a set period of time.

At minimum, secure life insurance for the primary breadwinner, but preferably for both parents, before the baby is born.

Pareto says young people typically don?t want to think about life insurance but it?s a necessity that ensures the financial well being of your child should something happen to you.

?If you?re having a child, one of your responsibilities as a parent is to make sure that if something happens to you, you can financially provide for them upon your death,? she says.

A common rule of thumb says you should carry life insurance equal to ten times your income. Adams says while it can be expensive, you may also want to consider long-term disability insurance.

While the risk of you dying may be relatively small, you have a greater chance of being injured and not being able to provide a living.

Finally, consider your estate plans and draft a will to lay out a division of assets.

Create a budget

You?ll often hear people talk about how expensive diapers and formula are, but they are relatively cheap when compared to things like daycare and school tuitions later down the line.?If you?re going to handle these expenses, you?re going to have to get a clearer picture of how much money you have coming in and going out every month.

According to a new report called ?Parents and the High Cost of Child Care,? the annual cost of day care for preschoolers runs from $4,600 in Mississippi to a whopping $15,000 in Massachusetts.

By creating a realistic budget, you might be able to find areas where you can make cutbacks or trim some fat to help deal with the added costs. Adam says creating a budget is a good way to get your finances in order before the baby arrives.

This is especially true if the mother is going to stay home with the child or draw a limited short-term disability.?It?s also important to factor in the cost of taking time off for maternity (or paternity) leave.

?You have to start thinking about how it?s going to impact your income and how these expenses are going to add up. Childcare could run $800 a month so you?ve got to find that money,? says Adam.

Save and don?t overspend on baby stuff.

The good thing is that Mother Nature can give you up to nine months to start saving before the big expenses kick in. By analyzing your budget, you should be able to start making cuts and setting aside some money for delivery costs and initial expenses.

Adam says there can be a tendency for new parents to overspend on all the ?fun? things that parents want. Having a premium crib, car seat, swing or toys shouldn?t come at the expense of the parents paying down debt, funding their own retirement or starting an education fund.

If you?re having a baby shower, try to ask for the necessary items so that you won?t have to spend money on them yourself. Also research which items are truly ?must-haves,? and which baby items are a waste of money.

?If you?re going to get gifts, ask for the essentials so you can open a college savings account right away for the baby and not need to go out and spend that money,? says Adam.

Opening and funding a 529 Plan or ESA (Education Savings Account) when the child is born is a smart move. Through compounding, small regular investments can add up big over time. If you start with just $100 per month and can earn a 6% return, you could have $36,000 by the time the child is a senior in high school. $16,000 of that would have come from growth alone.

?You should be setting up a 529 plan immediately because you can get 18 years of growth. The sooner you do it, the more you?ll have down the line,? says Pareto.

Oversee.net Announces WebFest Global | Elliot's Blog

Oversee.net has changed the name of its popular DomainFest Global conference to ?WebFest Global.? When you visit DomainFest.com, the conference?s former domain name, you will be forwarded to WebFestGlobal.com. Registration is now open for the February conference, which takes place at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel.

I don?t know if DomainFest will still exist in other formats, like the smaller one-day conferences the company previously held in various cities, but it looks unlikely.

According to a press release Oversee posted on its website:

?DomainSponsor?, the online direct navigation traffic monetization unit of Oversee.net? and organizer of the critically acclaimed DOMAINfest? series of domestic and international conferences, announced today that online registration is now open for its Webfest GlobalTM conference to be held February 5-7, 2013 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica, California.?

It becomes clearer that the DomainFest branding has been replaced by the WebFest branding rather than been created in addition to it. The evidence is further down in the press release: ?Founded in 2006 by DomainSponsor?, the direct navigation traffic monetization division of Oversee.net, Webfest Global (formerly DOMAINfest?)??

I would imagine the company is trying to create a broader Internet conference with this new branding, since the DomainFest name is somewhat limiting. That said, I don?t think it?s bad to have a conference theoretically limited to domain investors, since DomainFest regularly drew over 500 attendees.

In case you care, Scott Day?s?DigiMedia owns WebFest.com. That domain name is listed for sale on the Domain Name Sales platform.

LOBSTER SPAGHETTI

PASTA COOKING TIPS:

 • Save time ? double your favorite recipes, and freeze the extra servings for later use. This works especially well with sauces and baked pasta dishes like lasagna.
 • Make mealtime more enjoyable by serving different, fun shapes ? stars, letters, wheels and bow-ties.
 • For a nutrient-packed meal, pasta can be a great delivery system for veggies ? top it with chopped or mixed vegetables and a favorite bottled sauce.
 • Pairing pasta with legumes, such as beans and lentils, or low-fat dairy products makes for protein-rich, but inexpensive and delicious meatless meals.
 • Instead of meat, try adding vegetables to a light tomato sauce for a plenty of flavor and crunch.
 • Keep leftover cooked pasta in the refrigerator for up to three days. When it?s time to reheat, simply put it in a colander and?then place it directly into boiling water for one minute.
